The Flat Rock Village Council created the Flat Rock Park and Recreation Foundation, Inc., and incorporated it as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2013.

Mission Statement:
The Flat Rock Park and Recreation Foundation Inc. is dedicated to ensuring that The Park at Flat Rock endures for generations.

The Flat Rock Park and Recreation Foundation Inc.’s mission is to provide resources for sustainability, enhancements, and educational programming for The Park at Flat Rock and the community it serves.
Funded “Priority Projects”
All projects below were swiftly added to The Park at Flat Rock because of the grants and donations received by the Foundation for The Park’s “Priority Projects.”
- The Welcome Center: After opening in the fall of 2015, it houses The Park’s restrooms and water fountains
- Perry N. Rudnick Community Room: This space is a well-used area of The Park for meetings and parties
- The Boyd Deck: Right outside of the rear of the Welcome Center, this deck provides a “lookout” into the total park space, trails, and nature
- The Robert V. Staton Pavilion: This pavilion was dedicated in September 2016. It is a stunning 60-person post-and-beam style building designed for events, weddings, art and theatre events, and musical performances
- The Bryan Playground: A world-class playground designed for 5-12 year olds that attracts children and families daily to exercise, play and enjoy
- The Quiet Place: This small shelter perched near the wetlands hosts a perfect place for reflection
- Reflection Pond and benches: sponsors Dennis and Victoria Flanagan
- Inspiration Point (sponsors Tom and Nancy Hester): a deck overlooking the pond below the nature center
- Tot Lot: A new addition to our world-class Bryan playground designed for younger children under 5 year-olds. The playground offers safety and inclusion of designed for toddlers with handicap accessible playspace
- Covered Shelter: Bridging both the Bryan Playground and Tot Lot, this shelter addition brings seating, shade and picnic space to the playground area.
- The Eppler Overlook: Named in honor of one of The Park’s benefactors, Richard E. Eppler Jr., this overlook perched across two wetland areas provides a resting spot with several unique views of The Park.
- The Maybank-Rhett Nature Center: Located among three distinct environments: the meadow, wetlands and the forest, the nature center is a place to learn about The Park’s flora and fauna giving all the opportunity to learn more about The Park’s natural environment.
